Day 24: yellow blazing

Miles: 5 plus 90
Water: 1l
States:2

Well the plan to drive thru the rest of PA grew legs and went off running. The original plan to hike three more days then drive is gone. This morning XL was all "if we are going to do it, let's do it!" And I was all "ok"

So 80 miles later we are at the Delaware water gap eating ice cream.

Here is the song I was singing as we climbed the 1000  feet into camp today.

P. A. You broke the heart of your adopted son. I'm all bruises and duct tape on my feet.

Only three weeks in, this isn't any fun, I think it's time that we admit defeat.

PA here's our rebuttal, were getting on that shuttle.  And we'll yellow blaze yellow blaze the miles away.

We tell the thru hikers, I can see it in their eyes. Silent condemnation behind shows.

Except for toasty hands who's in good with the Lord, who says "blessings upon blessings"  as she goes.

Blessing upon blessing, each rushing yellow stripe. Each gas station, and local history.

Every humid rainy day, each rock we left behind screw those miles, don't mean nothing else to me.

PA here's our rebuttal, were getting on that shuttle.

And we'll.

Yellow blaze, yellow blaze, yellow blaze yellow blaze,, yellow blaze those 80 miles away.

Yellow blaze yellow blaze yellow blaze yellow blaze yellow blaze, screw you PA.

The punk rock versions were a bit more colorful in their language. But  I try not to go blue here on the blog.
